Lucena West I Elementary School successfully conducted its School Parents-Teachers Association (SPTA) General Assembly and Election of Officers for School Year 2026–2027 last July 3 at the school’s covered court, bringing together teachers and parent leaders from Kindergarten, SNED, ALS, and Grades 1 to 6.

The assembly commenced with the participation of the school’s teaching personnel and the Homeroom Parents-Teachers Association (HPTA) officers, reaffirming the school’s commitment to strengthening collaboration between the school, parents, and stakeholders in providing quality education and a safe learning environment.

School Principal Carlos Villaester emphasized the vital role of parents and stakeholders as partners in achieving the school’s goals. During his presentation, he discussed the DepEd No Collection Policy, reminding parents that no mandatory fees or contributions shall be collected from learners during the enrollment period and the opening of classes, in accordance with existing Department of Education guidelines. He also presented important school policies focused on learner safety and security, including the implementation of the Parent’s Gate Pass System, mandatory metal detector inspection for visitors and learners upon entering the school, and the No Plastic Cups Policy as part of the school’s environmental initiatives. In addition, he shared the school’s future plans aimed at enhancing the safety, welfare, and overall well-being of learners and school personnel.

Outgoing SPTA President Engineer Joam Alcantara presented the accomplishments of the association during the previous school year. Among the highlights were the approval of the resolution authorizing the voluntary collection of funds for the purchase of 500 monoblock chairs through the “Adopt A Chair Program” to support school ceremonies and activities, the approval of the voluntary card-making package proposal, the implementation of the IExperience Science Program for learners, the provision of financial assistance to school journalists who represented the school in the Regional Schools Press Conference, and the endorsement of sports equipment to further enhance student development.

Following the program, the election of the new set of SPTA officers for School Year 2026–2027 proceeded in an orderly and transparent manner. The newly elected officers are expected to work closely with the school administration, teachers, and stakeholders in implementing projects and activities that will benefit the learners and the entire school community.

The program concluded with the closing remarks of School Assistant Principal Bayani Reyes, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all parents, teachers, and stakeholders for their unwavering support and active involvement in the school’s endeavors. He encouraged everyone to continue working hand in hand in fostering a safe, inclusive, and learner-centered environment for every learner.
