


LUCENA CITY, June 18, 2026 – Lucena West I Elementary School successfully participated in the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) at 9:00 AM, with more than 4,000 learners, teachers, and personnel taking part in the activity.
Participants performed the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure and safely evacuated to designated assembly areas. The evacuation was assisted by the Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) officers led by President Katneese Mace O. Remoroza, who helped maintain order among the learners.


Following the evacuation, a first aid demonstration was conducted by School Nurse Charlotte T. Javelosa, together with Carlo Joseph V. Castillo, Nurse II, and Dr. Janel A. Romasanta, Medical Officer III. A search and rescue simulation was also carried out by the BDRRM Team led by Kagawad Tony A. Decena, while Sir Raniel A. Tan and Sir Albert Aureada demonstrated an additional rescue operation involving a simulated injured learner.

The activity strengthened the school’s disaster preparedness efforts and reinforced the importance of readiness, safety, and teamwork during emergencies.
