Junior Girl Scouts of LWIES took part in an Overnight Encampment held March 13 to 14, 2026, at Lucena West I Elementary School, carrying the theme “Once a Girl Scout, Always a Girl Scout.” The two-day activity gathered young scouts for various leadership-building activities and traditional scouting practices aimed at strengthening camaraderie and deepening their commitment to the ideals of the Girl Scout movement.

The activity opened with a short program highlighted by the Entrance of Colors led by Grade 6 junior scouts Carlyn Keight F. Menor, Crisha Alemania, AJ Amber Almira, and Bea Eloisa A. Ortiz, followed by the Panunumpa, the Promise and Law of the Girl Scouts, and a solemn doxology led by selected junior scouts.

School Faculty President, Ma. Liza V. Bautista delivered the opening remarks, welcoming the participants and encouraging them to live out the values of the Girl Scout movement in their daily lives. The presentation of participants was given by Portia A. Tesoro, Grade 4 Troop Leader.

The program was made livelier with an intermission performance by Grade 6 junior scouts Blyth and Aiah, followed by a song number performed by all junior scouts. An orientation of activities was later facilitated by Princess Pearl G. Evasco, Grade 6 Troop Leader, to guide the scouts through the camp activities.

One of the highlights of the evening was the campfire, where scouts gathered together and sang “Kumbaya,” strengthening camaraderie and celebrating the spirit of scouting. The opening program was hosted by Sarah Jane Ventura as the master of ceremonies.

The following morning, the scouts started the day with an energetic Zumba session. This was followed by the Base 1 to Base 3 activities (GSP song and dance, Palarong Pinoy, and headband making), allowing the participants to showcase their creativity, teamwork, and appreciation of culture.

The encampment concluded with an opening prayer through an audio-visual presentation. Selected junior scouts also shared their impressions (two participants from each grade level), reflecting on their experiences and lessons from the camp.

During the ceremony, Rachelle Monzones, Grade 5 Troop Leader, led the acceptance of the Girl Scout challenge, encouraging the young scouts to continue living by the values of courage and leadership.

The program also featured an intermission number by selected Grade 5 junior scouts, before the event ended with the awarding of certificates and prizes recognizing the active participation of the scouts. The closing program was hosted by May Anne Rhea Garay as the master of ceremonies.

Grade 4 troop leaders said the overnight encampment successfully reflected the spirit of the theme “Once a Girl Scout, Always a Girl Scout,” reminding the participants the lessons of friendship, leadership, and service will remain with them for years to come.
