RIZAL PROVINCE — A total of 34 participants from Lucena West 1 Elementary School qualified for the Reconfigured Regional Schools Press Conference held on Feb. 22–27 in Rizal Province.

The school competed in different categories including Radio Broadcasting (English and Filipino), Collaborative Desktop Publishing (English and Filipino), Copyediting and Proofreading (Filipino), News Writing (English), Photojournalism (English and Filipino), and Editorial Writing (English and Filipino).

Among the highlights, the Radio Broadcasting English team ranked as one of the Top 13 finalists. Copyediting and Editorial Writing entered the Top 40 finalists, while Editorial Writing advanced to the Top 8 in the final round.

The Radio Broadcasting English team was composed of Dyllana Stacy H. Beriña, Aholiab Sardonnyx S. Guyo, Precious Marielle Mier, Kristine N. Alcala, Dennise Isolde B. Arpia, Perth Queian Bumatnong, and Xherafica S. Evia. For Radio Broadcasting Filipino, the qualifiers were Carlyn Keight F. Menor, Alvin Grant E. Mercado, Christine Yvonne F. Rubio, Queen Athina E. Laguio, Bea Eloisa A. Ortiz, Celestine L. Cabral, and Marvyla Ivien P. Hill, with School Paper Advisers Mary Grace G. Garcia and Gladys O. Lavadia.

In Collaborative Desktop Publishing Elementary Filipino, the participants were Princess Johanna M. Rubias, Dave Leandre A. Sebuc, Kyle Harren P. Iglesia, Francesco Gavin M. Jalbuena, Alessandra Nicole M. Villaflor, Brandon Romeo S. Baasis, and Kailee Riz J. Basit, with School Paper Advisers Mark John O. Paglicawan and Genia A. Dural.

For Collaborative Desktop Publishing English, the team included Carl Raphael M. Cusi, Aimery John Idea, AJ Amber Almira, Shayne Kzel Oabel, Coolin Audrie Berches, Jameson Dala, and Joem Jayden Purio, guided by School Paper Advisers May Ann Rhea Garay and Princess Pearl Evasco.

In Editorial Writing English, Jasmine Joyce Deduyo represented the school with School Paper Adviser Vivian Montes. For Editorial Writing Filipino, Trixie Marco competed under the guidance of School Paper Adviser Romalyn Pineda.

In Photojournalism, Erza competed in the English category, while Marian Amber San Agustin represented the Filipino category, with School Paper Adviser Jessica Marace Fabellon.

For Copyediting and Proofreading Filipino, Kennelyn Xavielle Laureles represented the school under the guidance of School Paper Adviser Joann Idea.

The school also recognized the hard work of the coaches and the support of the parents who guided the learners in their preparation. The campus journalists’ participation was made possible through the strong support and leadership of Principal Carlos Villaester, who continuously encouraged and backed the team in their regional journey.
